Wine of the Week
This week’s wine:

Shooting Star Syrah 2006

After many years of close observaation, Jed Steele decided to plant Syrah in Lake County, California.  This decision has been affirmed as each vintage has produced great fruit.  All of the grapes are hand-havested and quickly delivered to the winery.  Fermentation lasts 6 to 7 days and the grapes are on  the skins for an additional 10 days.  The wine is bottled early and meant to be consumed young.  The 2006 Syrah is jammy and exhibits a palate of fresh plum and raspberry with moderate tannins.
